Samsung announced its first Galaxy Ring connected band during MWC 2024. However, since then, communication about the product has been almost non-existent, leading us to doubt that it will likely launch this year. However, the latest news is reassuring and the official launch of the Galaxy Ring is imminent.
According to the information received Dealabs MagazineSamsung Galaxy Ring will be present at the major Galaxy Unpacked conference on July 10, 2024, where the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 foldable smartphones, as well as the Galaxy Watch 7 series of connected watches, will be announced. The event will be held in Paris, where Samsung is a partner of the Olympic Games.
A release this summer, a high price
Better yet, the connected ring will be available in France starting at: July 19, 2024after a potential pre-order period. We were afraid we would have to wait a few more months after the presentation, but that shouldn’t be the case. The good news ends there, as the price of the wearable has also been leaked and is very high. How much does the Galaxy Ring cost 449 euros in FranceThat’s a higher price than many smartwatches from the brand.
This significant price tag risks slowing down the mass adoption of this technology. We can only hope that Samsung will lower its prices in the next generations or offer interesting promotional offers to help the transition to the pill. For comparison, the Oura Ring, which is the reference in this market, offers a model for 329 euros and a model for 399 euros. However, to benefit from all its health monitoring functions, a monthly subscription of 5.99 euros is required. If Samsung is as complete as Oura and offers all the features of the ring without requiring an additional subscription, then we can guess that the Galaxy Ring is more than competitive, but we do not have this information yet.
As Samsung previously announced, the Galaxy Ring will be available in nine sizes (from size 5 to 13) and three colors: black, gold, and silver.
