Galaxy Ring: Samsung’s connecting ring may be delayed, we’ll have to be patient

A report a few weeks ago had stated that Samsung was actively working on the Galaxy Ring, a connected ring whose first patents we discovered a few years ago. Everything indicated that the Korean giant was initially planning to launch this alongside the Galaxy S24 next January, but those plans were likely to fall through.

Indeed, according to a new report from The Elec, Samsung has finally decided to postpone the launch of its connected ring. Instead of starting at the beginning of next year, Samsung is reportedly currently working on a launch in late 2024, with marketing to begin early the following year.

Galaxy Ring will come in four different sizes

According to The Elec, Samsung is developing a Galaxy Ring model in four sizes. We don’t really know how the Korean giant plans to adapt to all finger sizes, but it’s good news to know that it plans to release at least 4 different versions.

The outlet speculates that the Galaxy Ring could be introduced as early as the third quarter of next year, rather than the first quarter of next year as previously reported, with a possible launch in the third quarter of next year or the first quarter of 2025.

It has been reported that directives have been given within Samsung to prepare. Simultaneous launch of Galaxy Ring and 6th generation foldable phones Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Fold 6 in the third quarter of next year. Now it is not yet known whether Samsung will stick to this new program.

As a reminder, this Galaxy Ring will bring many advantages compared to other connected products from Samsung; because it will offer better precision for health-related data compared to traditional smartwatches, for example. Samsung could also expect this new product to eclipse Galaxy Watch sales, perhaps by launching at a slightly more affordable price.
