Those who copy never create: Asian game reverberates on the internet as a cheap copy of ‘Zelda’

One of the most anticipated games of the year and which brings together a wide range of fans is “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom“, released last Friday (12/5).

Nintendo’s production is available for the brand’s console, Nintendo Switch, and is the sequel to an extremely famous franchise, with its last title released in 2017.

And we know that successes like this can be subject to the risk of someone copying them, but the surprise here is that, even before the launch, there was already a blatant copy of the game from the Japanese giant.

The gamified production, also Asian, is known as “Kung Fu Saga” and has already become the target of memes and criticism on the internet.

That’s because a Reddit user posted a video of the trailer of the RPG in its platform profile. From this, it is clear that comparisons have already begun to be made and they have indeed found many similarities between the mechanics of the two games.

In this, even the graphics and the type of animation look very similar to the original “Zelda”, in addition to, of course, the gameplay functions and the aesthetics of the characters.

The user even jokes, giving the game a different name in English. According to him, this name refers to the previous title in the Nintendo franchise, “Breath of the Wild”.

He comments: “Zelda: Wheeze of the Wild” (or “Zelda: Chiado da Selva”), in an ironic tone.

Similarities between the games

First of all, it is notable that the character is dressed entirely in green, which is not at all common and could already be a clear reference. In addition, the character climbs onto a kind of floating island; here, it is worth remembering that, in the new Zelda, the adventure extends to the skies.

In the video, it is also possible to see that the main character has a somewhat intriguing ability: he can produce weapons through a material synthesis resource.

That is, using only a stick and a rock, he is able to invent a hammer, something very similar to the special abilities of Link in the successful franchise.
