iPhone begins its revolution: Slim model in 2025, foldable model in 2026

Apple has ambitious plans to continue innovating the iPhone. According to Jeff Pu, analyst at Haitong Securities, the Apple brand sees big things for the iPhone 17 series, expected in the fall of 2025. According to the expert, the significant changes that are expected next year will encourage those who own an iPhone 17 series. The iPhone was released between 2021 and 2023 to buy a new model.

In the program, Apple was planning a new designmore memory, along with more advanced Apple Intelligence features. It’s unclear what design changes will come to this generation of iPhone 17, but Dynamic Island should remain. Apple is still working on under-display Face ID technology, but it’s unlikely to arrive next year.

A foldable iPhone and iPad

First of all, a new model should appear. The not-so-popular iPhone Plus should be replaced by the more expensive and differently-equipped iPhone Slim. This device needs a refined design to stand out; Apple is trying to apply a slimming treatment to all its products. The fact that the iPhone 17 Slim is sold at a higher price than the iPhone 17 Pro due to a less ambitious technical picture in many aspects, including photography, has raised doubts about the real passion of consumers for this device.

The analyst estimates that Apple is targeting 2026 for the launch of its first foldable device. Several models could even be marketed simultaneously. Initially, the American company wanted to launch a foldable iPad in 2025, followed by a foldable iPhone in 2026. However, development difficulties, especially related to the durability of the panel, delayed its plans. Now we are moving towards a potential simultaneous launch of a foldable tablet and a smartphone.

Apple’s goal is to eliminate crease marks on the screen with its devices, either completely or almost. The foldable iPhone will be in the Flip format, while the foldable iPad can offer a diagonal of 20.3 inches when opened.
