Bella Ramsey is interested in playing complex villains, like Joker

In a recent interview, the young actress explained the reasons for wanting to play characters so different from those she is normally offered.

Complex interpretation with villainous connections

The 20-year-old actress shared her desire to delve into the darker side of acting, noting that, until now, she has not had the opportunity to play a villain.

During his conversation with LADbible, Ramsey highlighted his quest for truly complex and intriguing roles.

“I haven’t played a villain yet. So I want to play a villain. But like a really interesting, intricate, complex villain,” Ramsey said, revealing his desire to delve into the psychological complexity of evil characters.

“Yeah. I actually thought so too. The Joker, someone really interesting like that,” Ramsey replied, demonstrating his fascination with the challenge of bringing such an iconic and multifaceted character to life.

In addition to her strong interest in the Joker, Bella Ramsey has made it clear her desire to explore roles that offer depth and complexity.

The actress mentioned being “more than available” to embrace a character in the style of Hannibal Lecterthe notorious cannibal psychiatrist renowned in film and literature, such as ‘The Silence of the Lambs’, ‘Hannibal’, ‘Red Dragon’ and ‘Hannibal Rising’.
