If you’re using a Wear OS compatible smartwatch like Samsung’s latest Galaxy Watch 6, you probably know that it offers several ways to give your smartphone quick replies to received messages, such as quick text replies. But, Now Google wanted to go even further and add voice messages.
In a support document on what’s new in Wear OS, Google explains that the Messages app now lets you:Record and send voice messages directly from your smartwatch, without touching your phone.
In fact, time will tell if you can finally listen to audio files on your watch. As a reminder, playback is currently not supported and users are prompted to “View File on Phone”. Given the new possibility of sending a voice message from a watch, this functionality will not be denied. We even hope that Google will eventually add transcription of voicemails.This is already available on smartphones.
In addition to voice messages, Google Assistant is also available in other languagesIncluding Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish and Polish. However, since Google has decided to remove this feature from watches running Wear OS 2, Google Assistant is now only accessible on new watches.
Finally, Google Wallet in Wear OS is now supported in more countries and regions, including Albania, Argentina, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Colombia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Isle of Man, Greenland, Faroe Islands, and San Marino.
