According to the report, The old Exynos 9110 chip introduced in 2018 will be replaced It’s on the next Pixel Watch with one of Qualcomm’s newest processors, the Snapdragon W5 Gen 1. So this confirms what a previous rumor said.

It will be the standard W5 Gen 1, not the W5+ Gen 1 that comes with a custom QCC5100 coprocessor. Looks like Google went with the non-Plus variant because it wanted it use its own NXP coprocessor just like the original Pixel Watch.

Thanks to this new chip carved into 4 nm, we should see significant gains in performance and efficiency that will significantly increase the clock’s autonomy. The Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 also supports low power consumption features like deep sleep and hibernation, which helps increase battery life.

Also, speaking of the battery, the Pixel Watch 2 will feature:306 mAh battery (typical), 4.1% increase compared to the 294mAh battery that the original Pixel Watch had.

Pixel Watch will have an improved display

Finally, the report also confirms previous rumors that the LTE variant of the device is codenamed “Eros” and the Wi-Fi variant is called “Aurora”. Despite the updated specifications, the Pixel Watch 2 may retain some of its predecessor’s features, including the design.
