How to Play Early Starfield

If Bethesda’s Starfield excites you and you want to jump into the universe as soon as possible, read on to find out how you can jump into the game a little early.

Starfield’s global release date has been confirmed for September 6. This is when the game was released worldwide on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and Windows PC. But there is a way to play Starfield a few days before September 6. Requires a little extra cash and pre-order.

If you buy the $69.99 standard edition of Starfield, you’ll get some pre-order bonuses, but you won’t get early access to the game unless you buy a more expensive bundle or upgrade your order.

The smoothest way to play Starfield early is to purchase the Premium edition or the collector’s pack known as the Constellation’s edition. Both of these give you up to five days of early access to Starfield. Of course at an additional cost.

Starfield Premium version is $99.99. For that price, you get some bonus items, including the game’s first DLC expansion called Shattered Space, plus an early release date.

Bethesda’s version of Constellation costs $299.99. For this price, you get early access, DLC, a watch similar to the watch your character uses in the game, and much more.

There is another way to get early access to Starfield and it is aimed at those who bought the Standard edition but decided to upgrade.

If you buy the Standard edition but decide you want the Premium edition, sellers offer an upgrade for $34.99.

The upgrade comes with the content of the Premium version, but if you order a physical copy of the game you will also receive the following items:

You cannot receive these items if you purchase the digital version of the premium version upgrade.

While the Premium version and Premium version upgrade will always be available for pre-order, it should be noted that the Constellation version probably won’t. The pack is already sold out at many retailers, and it’s unclear when, or even more, they’ll be in stock.

If you don’t want to spend time tracking it down and/or don’t want to pay a ton of money for Starfield, the Premium version is your best bet.

We don’t yet know when the game will open for early access. Bethesda says the actual game time will depend on your purchase date and will be subject to possible interruptions and applicable time zone differences.
