How to use Valheim Eitr and unlock spells

The Valheim Eitr spell brings a whole new twist to your favorite Viking survival game. Eitr is used to craft enchanted weapons and gain a mana-like enchantment stat. But like everything else in Valheim, the road to unlocking this feature is long and dangerous.

First, you have to find the new biome that comes with the Valheim Mistlands update, which includes joining the Valheim Public Test Server – where we can explain more about both. While there, you need to extract Essence, build an Eitr Refinery, craft Eitr weapons at the Galdr Table, and consume Eitr food. In this Valheim Eitr guide, we will explain all these steps in more detail.

What is Valheim Eitr?

Valheim Eitr can refer to two different things: a character’s Eitr status or a resource called Refined Eitr. The character’s Eitr stat is unlocked by eating food containing Eitr, giving you a purple Eitr bar that works similarly to mana; After using magic, the Eitr bar is depleted.

Refined Eitr is a resource for crafting Eitr-related crafting stations and crafting new weapons and armor, including magical ones.

Valheim Eitr foods

Let’s get you that Eitr stat first, shall we? The first step is to find blue, glowing Magecap mushrooms in Mistlands (see image). Eating these will give you an Eitr bar of 25 which is not much. However, you can use Magecap to cook the following dishes at a Cooking Station (upgraded to level 5):

  • stuffed mushrooms: Gives 75 Eitr
  • Yggdrasil porridge: Gives 80 Eitr
  • Seeker Aspic x2: Gives 85 Eitr
  • Minor Eitr Mead: Although it doesn’t give you an Eitr stat, a single bottle will fill you 125 Eitr over time.

How to obtain Refined Eitr, step one, Sap Extractor

Eitr is of no use without Eitr-based weapons. And you need Refined Eitr made from Yggdrasil Essence to get Eitr weapons. First go to the Mist Lands and gather Yggdrasil Forest. It is dropped by every little Yggdrasil tree, so finding it shouldn’t be hard.

Next, find a Dvergr Extractor in one of the Dvergr settlements. It is usually hidden in safes (see picture). Once you have both resources you will unlock the following crafting recipe for the Stalk Extractor:

  • Yggdrasil Tree x10
  • Black Metal x5
  • Dvergr Extractor x1
  • Stand

Equipped with these materials and a Hammer, your next step is to find a Yggdrasil Root. Look for large roots with green, shiny veins; you can’t miss them. As you approach, a message will pop up informing you that “the ancient root is vibrating with energy.” Place Workbench, then Sap Extractor and wait for a while. It takes a minute to get a Handle.

How to get Refined Eitr, step two, Eitr Refinery

Now that we have Sap, we can build an Eitr Refinery. This will take some time as you have to enter an Infested Mine, a Mistlands dungeon to find the Black Core. Here is the full Eitr Refinery crafting recipe:

  • Black Marble x20
  • Black Metal x5
  • Yggdrasil Tree x10
  • Black Core x5
  • essence x3
  • Stand

Once the Eitr Refinery is set up, add some of your Yggdrasil Sap. You also need to add Soft Tissue (Dvergr drop) through the opening at the top of the machine. The Eitr Refinery produces Refined Eitr every 40 seconds.

Refined Eitr can now be used to craft a Galdr Table, which is used to craft enchanted weapons and Eitr Armor. You can also use Refined Eitr to craft Carapace Armor Set and various non-magical weapons in Black Forge.

Valheim Eitr weapons

After building the Galdr Table, you will be able to craft your first Eitr weapon. There are four options, each with a different magic effect:

  • Protection Personnel: Used to cast blood magic. Change HP for magic protection.
  • Dead Riser: Used to cast blood magic. Recruits an undead minion to aid you in battle.
  • Frost Staff: used to use elemental (frost) magic.
  • Staff of Embers: used to use element (fire) magic.

Valheim Eitr armor

Additionally, you can use the Galdr crafting station to craft the following Valheim mage armor:

  • Eitr-knit Headgear: Eitr regen +20%
  • Eitr-knit Dressing Gown: Eitr regen +40%
  • Eitr Woven Trousers: Eitr regen +40%
  • Feather Cape: protects against fall damage and increases frost resistance

That’s it, enjoy your new life as a Valheim mage! If you’re after other new Mistlands stuff, check it out. Valheim chickens You can now breed and breed.
