Determined to outshine Google Home and Apple’s HomePod, which currently dominates the high-end market, Amazon has introduced several Echo speakers for the French market. This new series joins the Amazon Echo, Echo Spot and Echo Dot, which were released in France in June 2018.
Echo Dot, Plus, Sub: Here are the new connected speakers from Amazon in France
More focused on home automation than ever before, this new series also takes pride in sound quality with the arrival of a speaker that rivals the newly launched Google Home Max in France. The following 4 new products are already available for pre-order on the Amazon website. Scheduled to be delivered on October 11, 2018.
Amazon Echo Dot 3rd Gen
Sold at €59.99, the Amazon Echo Dot is the lowest cost solution in this new range. This new generation is equipped with 4 long-range microphones to improve voice recognition. A real alternative to the Google Home Mini, the Echo Dot stands out with its discreet and compact design. Available in grey, white and black colors.
Amazon Echo Plus
Aimed at home automation enthusiasts, Amazon Echo Plus features an integrated Zigbee hub that lets you configure and control your connected objects without going through a bridge or third-party app. The Hue Philips bulb bridge doesn’t need to take control, which still represents a savings of €50. Other connected objects can be clearly controlled directly through the speaker. The smart speaker also draws attention with its 360-degree Dolby sound. Amazon promises clear vocals and dynamic bass.
Amazon Echo Bottom
If you’re not completely satisfied with the sound power of your Echo speaker, Amazon now offers the Echo Sub, a 100W subwoofer that you can add to your device. Much like Apple’s HomePod, the Echo Sub can be easily paired in stereo with several speakers.
Amazon Smart Plug
In addition to these 3 new speakers, Amazon has lifted the curtain on its first plug in. Selling at €29.99 and well below the market average, the Smart Plug lets you directly voice control a coffee machine, fan or streetlight. Via the Alexa app, configuration promises to be particularly simple. Delivery is scheduled for October 17.
That’s not all. Amazon also introduced a number of products currently reserved for American users: a microwave oven equipped with Alexa, which retails for $ 59, Echo Input, a small box (12.5 mm) that lets you add Alexa to any audio device via a jack. Echo Auto, a new Echo Show, a speaker with a 10-inch display, Echo Link Amp and Echo Link, amplifiers and a connected clock to enjoy Alexa in your car. No availability date in France has been announced. To learn more about Alexa, check out our Amazon Echo review.
