Since its launch in the world, Prime Video has, of course, been compared to its lifetime competitor, Netflix. Everyone agrees that the interface of the Amazon platform is a disaster, especially if some lend a better catalog for movies. Shows appear several times according to their seasons, it’s hard to find the content we watch, everything is pretty messy in general… In short, it’s better to know where we’re going when we open the app.
So it seems that all these criticisms do not fall on deaf ears. Today, Amazon announced the distribution of a brand new interface that is better suited to using this type of platform. As you can imagine, the web giant was heavily inspired by the best of the competition. It has given him a lot: the whole is much more readable and above all better organized. Follow the guide, we give you a small overview.
Prime Video’s interface is completely changing, and that’s good
Perhaps the first thing to note is the new design of the left sidebar, which now displays icons for each category: Search, Home, Store, Live TV, Free and My Content. You can find all the content released by Prime Video on the Home tab, sorted by genre (movies, TV shows, sports). Paid or commendable content is finally eligible for its own section, the Shop. No need to confuse them with the service catalog anymore.
Like Netflix, Prime Video selects the 10 most watched movies and TV shows of the moment for the most undecided, who no longer know what to watch. Finally, all content will be marked with a small badge depending on its nature: blue for movies and series included in the subscription, and gold for paid ones. The new interface is being distributed and will arrive in France soon.
