How to find Minecraft Netherite to craft Netherite items

Knowing how to get Minecraft Netherite and what you can do with it is essential as Netherite lets you build some of the best tools in the game. However, even purchasing any Netherite and then using it to upgrade your vehicles is a grueling process. As the name suggests, you’ll have to search the Nether and navigate the inhospitable environment to find the Ancient Debris, which must be crafted in several ways before you eventually get usable Netherite nuggets. It’s a lot of work but it can definitely be worth it if you plan to tackle the toughest enemies in Minecraft because it’s a stronger and more durable material than even Diamonds. If you’re planning to build the toughest tools in Minecraft, here’s everything you need to know about how to find, craft and use Minecraft Netherite.

How to get Netherite in Minecraft

Obtaining Netherite is unfortunately not as easy as finding ore. It is a material that needs to be made into ingots and requires some high quality tools, so knowing how to find Minecraft Diamonds will also be important. In short, you’ll need to get the Ancient Wreckage in the Nether, smell it, and then combine the scraps with Gold to get Netherite Ingots that can be used for crafting. It’s a grueling process, so we’ve explained each step in more detail below:

How to Find Ancient Wreck in Minecraft

At the very least when you get yourself a Diamond Pickaxe – although we recommend getting a full set of Diamond armor, a Diamond Sword and a spell or two for each of these items – you can craft a Nether portal to reach it. Hell dimension and begin your quest for the Netherite. Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Use a Diamond Pickaxe to mine at least 10 blocks of Obsidian and create a Nether portal
Your portal should be four blocks wide and five blocks high, but you can minimally miss corners.
  2. Go to the Nether and search for the Ancient Wreck
Ancient Debris is a block type that can only be mined using the Diamond Pickaxe (or Netherite Pickax), but we assume you don’t have one of them yet. It spawns in small clumps, similar to Lapis Lazuli ore, and each block you mine goes straight to your inventory and is ready to be smelted.
  3. Smell the Ancient Wreck to get Netherite Scaps
Take your Ancient Debris blocks and toss them into a furnace or blast furnace with some fuel to melt them into Netherite Scraps. The conversion ratio is 1:1, so melting a block of Ancient Debris will give you a Netherite Scrap.
Minecraft is fascinating

Learning about Minecraft magic will help you get the best tools for the job.

When going through your Nether portal, make sure your coordinates are visible (press F3 for Java Version on PC and change ‘Show Coordinates’ in your settings for Bedrock Version) so you can find a suitable Y level to start mining. . Make sure you also note down the coordinates of your Nether portal so you can get home!

Ancient Debris can spawn in veins of 1-3 blocks at Y-level 8 to 22 and can spawn in veins of 1 or 2 blocks at Y-axis 8-119. Since these Y-level ranges overlap, if you want to get as much Ancient Debris as possible, you’ll best spend your time mining between Y8 and Y22. The Ancient Wreck is also never exposed to air, so you’ll need to dig into the Nether to find it.

How to make Netherite Ingot

After melting your Ancient Debris to obtain Netherite Scraps, you are ready to turn them into Netherite Ingots. Combine four Netherite Scraps with four Gold Ingots in a crafting table – you should definitely have some Gold lying around, given the amount of mining you probably have done to get to these points – and you’ll create a Netherite Ingot. You can also find blocks of Ancient Debris, Netherite Scraps, and even Netherite Ingots in lootable chests inside Bastion Remnants structures in the Nether.

The conversion rate for crafting Netherite Ingots is pretty dire and means that for every four blocks of Ancient Debris you dig, you’ll only get one Netherite Ingot in the end. Exploring Bastion Relics can be a good way to find more essential materials, or even nuggets if you’re really lucky, allowing you to upgrade enough of your tools and equipment to Netherite quality.
