Apple hasn’t confirmed the iPhone 8 release date, but a carrier is allowing shoppers to reserve an iPhone 8 right now.
The iPhone 8 release date is still up in the air, but rumors point to it coming in September alongside the iOS 11 update for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
iPhone 8 pre-orders likely won’t start until next month, but a carrier in Germany is allowing customers to book their next iPhone purchase.
German operator Telekom published a message. reservation ticket page on the website that allows potential buyers to queue up to buy upcoming devices like the iPhone 8 and Galaxy Note 8.
The company doesn’t name the iPhone 8 or Galaxy Note 8 by name, but calls it future phones from “Samsung, Apple, Huawei, etc.”
Once we receive these phones, bookers can use it to pre-order a ticket and “automatically benefit from preferred delivery”.
Telekom’s strategy contains at least one important caveat. These reservation tickets are only available to new customers who sign up for a data plan. Existing customers will need to renew their plans to take advantage of this early offer.
To sign up, customers just need to fill out a short form and send it to the carrier. Telecom will send a confirmation email and then inform customers when to use the provided ticket (via SMS, email or Wallet app).
Telekom is not the only company that has prepared the iPhone 8’s release date from outside. Apple itself is also starting to make some general changes ahead of the iPhone launch.
Apple made its own update Sales policy in Hong Kong All products purchased from Apple online and retail stores in the country on or after August 15 can no longer be exchanged or returned. It’s unclear how long this will last, but it will likely be extended with the launch of the iPhone 8.
The company says it will still receive replacements for defective items.
Apple took similar steps last year Before the iPhone 7 launch date, despite making changes to the return policy in September before the iPhone 7 launch day.
Apple has yet to confirm an iPhone 8 launch, but all signs point to a launch next month, along with two other iPhone models.
One of Apple’s rivals, Samsung, is expected to launch the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 at a media event on August 23. Like the iPhone 8, the Galaxy Note 8 is expected to arrive in September.
Germany was one of the first countries to receive the iPhone 7 and Samsung Galaxy Note 7 in the fall of 2016.
