Google Sabrina: Here’s the technical sheet for the new Android TV dongle

Amlogic S905X2 SoC, 2GB RAM and low latency mode for Stadia

The successor to the Chromecast is clearly Amlogic S905X2 chipsetIt is the direct descendant of the mid-range S905X coupled with 2GB of RAM. The chipset carved in 12nm consists of Quad Core Cortex A-53 CPU and Mali-G31 MP2 GPU. The component already powers many TV Boxes available in the market, such as certain boxes from the American ISP Verizon or operator Télénet (Belgium).

Not surprisingly, the dongle Compatible with 4K, HDR 10 and Dolby Vision at 60fps. Finally, XDA Developers also discovered the existence of an “auto low latency mode” that works with HDMI 2.1 ports. Concretely, this mod will disable certain functions to automatically reduce lag while playing video games. According to XDA, this mod was developed for Stadia subscribers.

XDA also detected its presenceA programmable button exclusive to Netflix, Amazon Prime Video or Disney+ on the remote control to accompany the dongle. It is currently unknown when Google will present “Sabrina”. Initially, the Mountain View firm had planned to launch the dongle during the Google I/O conference, which was canceled due to the Covid-19 outbreak. We will tell you more as soon as possible.
