After the official unveiling of the Apple iPhone 6 Plus, we offer you a comparison at the top. The best smartphones of the moment and/or future go through the Moyens I/O mill through our spec sheet and our views on the hardware configuration of each device.
And nothing is worth a good encounter with opponents worthy of the name. Faced with the iPhone 6 Plus, we chose the well-known LG G3, Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4 and Sony’s Xperia Z3. Of all the options, only the G3 is already available, other devices will arrive at retailers very soon.

Processor and performance
Performance-wise, each device offers its own vision of what a high-end processor should look like. Yes Apple slowest CPU on paper With a dual core clock of just 1400 Mhz, that doesn’t mean the iPhone 6 Plus will be left blank. The competitors in the Android world all rely on Qualcomm with Snapdragons. However, Samsung pulled out of the game with the Snapdragon 805 clocked up to 2.7Ghz. Such a burst of power from the Galaxy Note 4 should satisfy the criteria.
In terms of 4G, it’s a draw for everyone except Samsung, which is at the front. With Category 6 4G up to 300 Mbps, other devices are thrown so to speak. Sony, LG and Apple are therefore limited to 150 Mbps, which remains in the ranking of excellence.
Screen
The question of the screen promises a close fight. We have two smartphones that choose the classic Full HD (Apple and Sony). LG and Samsung prefer Quad HD. Let’s be frank, the advantage of Quad HD today is questionable as the contributions made by the naked eye are quite small for higher energy consumption. However, it should be noted that LG and Samsung remain representatives of a certain technological avant-garde.
However, the competition for Korean terminals is not being won. Every display technology has its strengths and weaknesses. Historically Sony has had a bit of trouble with certain colored hues, Samsung tends to have a bit of fancy Delta (but can be adjusted in settings), LG makes a pretty clean copy… Apple still performs very well in this area and it’s hard to see how it could be otherwise with the iPhone 6 Plus. Replies in a few days.
Camera
Just like the performance of general calculations, we shouldn’t be declaring victory too quickly if Apple seems to be behind. That’s why the Californian company prefers to use an 8-megapixel sensor againrejects escalation in this sector. On the other hand, we look forward to testing the new image algorithms used alongside the new autofocus introduced.
On the other hand, it is difficult not to be saddened by the lack of 4K shooting with the iPhone 6 Plus, especially since the three competitors offer 30 frames per second. It’s hard not to see it as an acknowledgment of weakness on the part of Apple, formerly a leader in technological choices, making the laudable choice to improve what already exists while forgetting everything that’s already available at the tech tool level.
Autonomy
The batteries of the 4 devices in this comparison spin around 3000mAh, which is an excellent capacity. In use, everything will depend on system optimizations implemented by various manufacturers. But watch out for Samsung and LG, which are potentially the most energy consuming with their Quad HD displays.
We know that iOS always takes care to set this parameter correctly. With such a beast battery, it’s a safe bet that autonomy is more than just respect. Why not 2/3 days under normal conditions? With certain settings, it is possible to reach this level on the Android side, so everything is playable on the Apple side. A priori, Sony and Apple should lead the dance in this space. The currently available LG G3 struggles a bit in this regard.
Design
The traditional design question ends our comparison, and as always, everything will depend on the taste of each. Apple embodies a certain quiet power, if there is a change, it lies in the detail, the finish, and if we exclude the new 5.5-inch diagonal, it will not necessarily be visible at first glance. Apple’s sobriety has followers who will also appreciate the somewhat harsh lines of another particularly well-designed model, the Xperia Z3.
LG and Samsung are no exception. While the latter is still in the process of improvement, LG has a more dignified feel, if the exterior of its devices often intensifies many disappointments (plastic appearance, toy, even mid-range device). It is not for us to decide on this design question, especially when we are faced with four models with such a distant philosophy. Maybe it’s best to have them on hand?
As always, we welcome your comments and feedback to tell us which one of this selection will be the best smartphone and why.
