How to Make Static Layers in Slider Revolution

One of the best things about Slider Revolution is, helps you streamline certain processes that might otherwise take too much time. One such process is to add static layers, which are elements that stay the same across all slides.

Let’s say you want to add a button that will appear on every slide in your slider. Images change, even text can change, but your button stays the same. This button is not added manually to every slide – instead Static layer using Global Layers.

What Are Static Layers?

In short, Slider Revolution static layers layers that appear on all slides in a slider.

Our Aoki theme has a great static layer example built using Slider Revolution. The smartphone image has been added as a static layer with no animations. While everything else on the slider changes and slides in and out, the phone stays still throughout the slides, creating an interesting effect.

About General Layers

Global Layers is an option allows users to add static content to each of the slides in a single action without having to repeat. Let’s say you have a slider where the same text appears on each slide. The images change, but the text remains the same. Manually adding a text layer to each slide (whether type or copy/paste each time) is quite time consuming and there is a chance that your slides will not come out the same, messing up your slider.

But if you use Global Layers instead, you can create a single static layer with this text. Such a layer will then appear on all slides and you will not have to repeat the process.

Let’s see how this feature works and how you can use it in your sliders.

How to Add a Static Layer

Go to Slider Revolution in your Control Panel. It is located under the feature we are discussing today. Slides > General Layers.

This would be a good time to point it out. The layer you add as a static layer will appear in front of the other layers by default.. However, depending on your needs, you may want him to come back. To change this, go to: Z position in Slide Options > General Layers. Here you can send said layer to the back.

note this If your other slides have any background, they will not be visible if your global layer is set to “back”. (color, background image…). This option only works with sliders with a transparent background.

Here you also have the option to choose whether you want it or not. overflow your static layer to be Visible or Hidden.

Here is something else you can decide when you want your static layer to appear (to be more precise, on which slide). It can start from the first slide, or the second or third slide, and so on. On the second, third, fourth slide, etc. You can make it stay on (or disappear) on it. That way, for example, you can have the same layer on two out of three slides.

Everything else is pretty much the same as the other layers. You can (and should!) make your static global layer responsive for each device, and you can even choose to hide it on specific devices. It can bind, animate, etc.

As a result

You can play with Slider Revolution static layers or add social icons, text, links, etc. to make your sliders more interesting and engaging. You can keep them fully functional. It’s entirely up to you. The point is, with the Global Layers feature, you don’t have to waste time copying layers from slide to slide.
