That said, we highly recommend downgrade any piece of software only temporarily You may be using it until you solve any urgent problem. Checking if a plugin or theme is causing a conflict, or using an older, working version of a piece of software for a while until you find an alternative, running outdated software is a big risk.
WordPress does not offer easy version switching by default. And when a function cannot be found in WordPress core functions, oftentimes a plugin can be found to complement it. We will use a free plugin called WP Downgrade predictably to lower our WP.
After installing and activating the plugin, access it by going to: Settings/WP Downgrade From your WordPress dashboard.
Once you’ve done that, all you have to do is enter the number of the version you want to revert to. WordPress Target Edition Click the field and Save Changes button. The plugin also informs you about the current version and the language of your installation.
To fully perform the downgrade, you will be prompted to go to: Upgrade Kernel screen. To do this, simply click Upgrade-Downgrade Core button.

Once there, choose a theme you want to undo. We’ll go with our own Qi Theme, but your choice of theme can of course vary. This will open Theme Details screen.
