Before deciding to change the author of a blog post, first you need to make sure you have an author to replace.. If you don’t, even the option to change the author of a single post will not appear. so head Users > Add NewFill in the details for the new author and choose his role.
After clicking the Add New User button, you will see the new author if you navigate to it. Users > All Usersand you will be able to assign existing articles to them – as long as you’re an admin or editor. So let’s see how you can do this.
Now that you have multiple people who can post, you can change the signature of your posts. To do this, go to: Posts > All Posts. Once there, select the post for which you want to change the author. While on post, go to post settings – they will be on the right – and below Post > Status and VisibilityFind the Author option.
Simply replace the author with the author you want displayed; authors appear in place of the author you changed.
Changing the author of a post is easy, but what happens when you want to change authors to multiple posts? Stuck on the post to manually post and change the author or is there a better way to do it?
Of course, there is a better way. luckily, WordPress allows us to perform actions in bulk so we can modify many posts or pages at once., without having to access or edit them individually. So let’s take a look at our mailing list, Posts > All Posts.
Let’s say we want to replace all existing authors with a new author that we just added. The first thing we have to do is select the posts we want to change and then Select Edit from the Bulk Actions drop-down menu.
After clicking the “Apply” button next to the Bulk Action dropdown, you’ll open a menu where you can do a lot of interesting things, including selecting the posts you want to edit, selecting specific categories or tags, and editing one. from several options – turn on or off pings, sticky posts, and comments, as well as the status and format of posts.
The most interesting option for us is the Author option. Clicking on it will open a menu that will let you choose which author you want to assign the selected posts to.
Select the author you want – we chose the author who has no posts before – and just click update. With this, you will see that the authors of all selected posts have changed based on your new selection.
You can easily switch to another author or even select a few posts to change.
