Of course, not all content that could benefit from an age verification solution is adult-only, such as explicit content or online gambling. We’ll show you how to start age verification for your WordPress website using a free plugin and in no time at all.
Adding Age Verification in WordPress
we will use WordPress Responsive Age Verification plugin to add age verification to your content. If you’re not sure how to install and activate a WordPress plugin, we have a tutorial for that too.
After installing the plugin we will take a look at the plugin settings. You can access them from the add-on screen. The Responsive Age Verification plugin is easy to install because it only has one settings page.
It is already set to suit many users, but we will customize it. The plugin works by overlaying website content with a color until the user confirms their age. we will arrange Content Layout Color to light gray (#7f7f7f). To make the age confirmation dialog stand out, Dialogue Background Color to black (black #000000). We also set dialog title with are you of legal age because the age for viewing adult material can vary from country to country and even within a country. Next, we rename the Approve and Decline buttons to make them more direct. This Confirm Button Text will read now I’m an adult (Continue)while Button Reject Text will read I’m not an adult (Check out). you can change Verified Duration, the validity period of your verification. The default is set to 8760 hours or 365 days. During this time, the visitor accessing the protected content will not be asked any questions again. Finally, you may or may not want to flag it. Credit checkbox to show developer credits. We will not change these last two options. Finally, we will Save our changes.
Now the next time a visitor accesses your content, they will see the dialog before seeing any website content.
