If you know your way around WordPress, you’ve probably noticed that formatting text parts of your website, especially posts, can take a lot of time, especially if you use your mouse and the formatting buttons in the editor. Fortunately, WordPress provides several ways to save time using WordPress keyboard shortcuts. And while text formatting is certainly one of the most common uses of keyboard shortcuts in WordPress, it’s not just that, as you’ll see.
In this article, we’ll show you some of the shortcuts we find most useful for both PC and Mac users. This is what we will discuss:
First, text formatting works pretty much the same in WordPress as it does in any other text editor. If you’re a PC user, the commands you’re probably familiar with are: Ctrl + X, Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V for to cut, copy and Paste, Ctrl + B for intrepid, Ctrl + me for italicand Ctrl + U for underlined Text.
You may not be as familiar with Ctrl + K add a hyperlink to the selected text and Ctrl + Shift + K to remove.
For a Mac user these are of course different.

You can also select any text using Ctrl + Shift + arrow. left (←) and right (→) arrows in either direction will select anything up to the next word. up (↑) and down (↓) it will select anything up to the next or next paragraph. There are also several shortcuts used for content management in WordPress. The important thing about this set of shortcuts is that they must be specifically enabled before the user can use them to control content. You can do this by going to any user profile from your left-hand menu and ticking the appropriate checkbox.
Once logged in, the user will be able to use these shortcuts while managing comments.
To scroll through the comments J and K keys to switch between comments. J will move the selection up one comment and K down.

To find your way around your editor more easily, you may want to include some of these shortcuts in your repertoire: for navigating between sections of the editor Shift + Alt + N and Shift + Alt + P moving back and forth between sections of the editor and Ctrl + Shift + Alt + M To switch between Visual and Code editor modes.
For Mac users these are Option + Control + N and Option + Control + P navigate back and forth and Command + Option + Shift + M To switch between Visual and Code editor modes.
Finally, if you need a quick overview of all available shortcuts, you can see it using the shortcut shortcut: Alt + Shift + H for PC and Option + Control + H for Mac. If you’re in your post or page editor, this will cause all the shortcuts to appear in a popup.
