Windows 11 lets you add your favorite apps to the Taskbar, customize the Start Menu, and add the Amazon App Store. Among many other changes, the latter lets you run Android apps on your desktop or laptop running Windows 11.
However, adding the Amazon App Store and (later running Android apps) is not a simple process.
There are a few changes you will need to get them working. Once this is done, you will be able to add the store to your Windows 11 system with ease. Fortunately, this is a one-time process and does not take much time.
This post will outline how to add Amazon App Store in Windows 11.

One of the main reasons for adding the Amazon App Store is to run Android apps. To do this, your PC must meet some requirements as below.
one. Windows Version: You need to register your Microsoft account in the Windows Insider and Beta channel. For those unaware, the Beta Channel brings more polished Windows features out of the box.

Stage 1: Press Windows key+i to open Settings and select Windows Update from the left panel. Tap on the Windows Insider Program to link your account and the system will guide you through the next steps.
2nd. virtualization: Virtualization is a critical hardware-based function required to run Android apps that you download later.
However, virtualization may or may not be enabled on your system. To check the status of your PC, open the Task Manager and select the Performance tab.
Check the lower right corner of the Performance tab to see the status. If it’s enabled, you’re good to go. But if not, you may need to enable it.
But enabling Virtualization differs from PC to PC. And you will need to check the online manuals for your laptop/processor to enable it.
3. Credentials: For now, you will need an Amazon US account to access the store. Naturally, if you don’t have one, you’ll have to create one.

How to Add Amazon App Store in Windows 11
Stage 1: Go to Settings on your PC and select Time & language from the left panel.
Under Language and region, click the drop-down menu next to Country or region and select United States from the menu.
step 2: Next, search for ‘Turn Windows features on or off’ in the Start menu and click to turn it on.
Once inside, check the ‘Virtual Machine Platform’ option. At the same time, uncheck ‘Windows Hypervisor Platform’.
Here Virtual Machine Platform allows you to create or run virtual machines on your Windows operating system. On the other hand, the Hypervisor platform can interfere with the operation of virtualization applications. That’s why we disabled it.
Save the settings and restart your computer.
Stage 3: Once your computer has booted, it’s time to download and install the Windows Subsystem.
Windows Subsystem will enable your PC to run Android apps in the future. Fortunately, the setup process is easy and you just have to follow the onscreen instructions.
When finished, restart your PC.
step 5: Now all you have to do is sign in to the Amazon App Store using your Amazon US credentials.
As stated earlier, the process does not end with just adding and installing the Amazon App Store. You can download and install individual Android apps like Kindle, YouTube and Instagram and run them there.

Similar to the Amazon App Store on your phone, the store on your Windows 11 system gives you the option to customize it to your liking.
For example, you can enable Parental Controls when installing the app on your child’s laptop. However, you need to enter the password of the app to enable/disable it.
