Uncomplicated connection: 5G broadband that does not require a technical visit is already a reality in Brazil

Nowadays, practically no one lives without Internet. We cannot deny that online connection and technology help our daily lives become more practical and effective, but of course there are their negative points.

One of them, in fact, is related to problems related to the lack of network, internet going down, in short, thousands of issues.

It is quite common when this type of problem occurs, for us to contact the technical assistance responsible for the internet service and for them to send a technician to our home to solve the problem.

But imagine that this is no longer necessary, that you no longer need to receive a technician at your home, nor go through trouble destroying your walls due to conductive cables!

This is the new proposal for a fixed broadband project that has just arrived in Brazil. In this case, the customer would only need to purchase a modem that was capable of capturing the signal from the cellular network and send it around the house or business already converted to the Wi-Fi standard.

This new type of fixed broadband uses the 5G network and is known as Fixed Wireless Access or FWA, in addition, it debuted in five Brazilian cities in recent days.

How does the new 5G technology work?

As the pioneering company in the scenario, Claro takes the lead among operators by presenting in Brazil the first residential internet plans using the 5G mobile network as fixed wireless access (Fixed Wireless Access – FWA).

With astonishing speeds of up to 1Gbps, the new 5G+ mobile internet portfolio promises an unparalleled experience for consumers.

Using the new technology, you can enjoy an ultra-fast and stable connection, eliminating worries about cables and wires.

This new offer from Clear makes use of the 2.3 GHz and 3.5 GHz frequencies, acquired in the most recent auction held by the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel).

The service was launched last Wednesday, August 2, both for customers in the residential segment and for small and medium-sized companies, in areas where there is fifth generation coverage by the company in the cities of São Paulo, Campinas, Rio de Janeiro, Porto Alegre and Brasília.

According to information released by Claro itself, the other regions of the country gradually received the new technology. Those who wish to have the new plans must also purchase a 5G modem from Claro with Wi-Fi 6.

How will 5G reach Brazilian consumers?

The first Claro 5G+ modems with WiFi 6 will be supplied by Intelbras, with the Qualcomm chipset. It can connect with up to 128 devices simultaneously, and capture the mobile broadband signal, offering a connection wirelessly to all devices in the home or office.

This is simple, you just need to insert the 5G chip into the equipment and connect it to the socket, as described in the equipment’s self-installation guidelines.

In other words, there is no need to involve any technical team or schedule visits, as the user is in charge of the installation, the experience can be compared to activating a new smartphone.

The company also says that if desired, the customer can take the modem to other locations. Beyond your home, however, in these cases it is possible that the equipment only works connected to the 4G network, which does not deliver speeds of up to 1 Gbps at peak as with 5G.

The company believes that the new technology is not only useful for people who want to enjoy the internet at home, but also for companies who need a second broadband connection as a backup.

Claro’s Director of Products and Value Proposition, Fabio Nahoum, spoke about the new technology:

“Today we once again reinforce Claro’s pioneering spirit by launching the first wireless ultra-broadband in the country, through our state-of-the-art 5G network. As one of the most relevant services made possible through the new 5G technology, Claro brings it first hand to its customers.”
