Trojan invades applications and steals money without you noticing

Nowadays, unfortunately, virus for mobile devices are an increasingly common and worrying threat. Recently, a virus was identified for the Android operating system that has been causing a series of problems and losses to users around the world.

This type of cyber attack is nothing new, as malicious individuals have long taken advantage of the vulnerability and lack of knowledge of Internet users to carry out their illicit activities, whether stealing personal or financial information or even causing damage to devices.

Therefore, with the exponential increase in the use of mobile devices to access the internet and carry out financial transactions, the threat of virtual attacks has become increasingly serious and widespread, which requires users to pay extra attention and take stricter security measures.

A ‘trojan’ that steals money

Recently, a trojan which has been causing concern among mobile device users. This malware targets apps from the Play Store, the Android operating system’s virtual app store, and acts stealthily, without the user realizing that the app has been hacked.

A Trojan, or Trojan horse, is a type of malware that disguises itself as legitimate software to trick users and break into systems, allowing hackers to access personal information such as passwords and banking details.

The way the virus works is simple: it installs itself in legitimate applications from the Play Store which, when downloaded by the user, allow the virus to access information on the device.

With this information, the Trojan registers for the premium version of the application without the user’s knowledge, using the information available in the Play Store itself.

This situation can cause significant financial losses to users, who end up having their bank accounts and credit cards debited without authorization. In addition, the Trojan can cause damage to the device, making it slower and more vulnerable to other virtual threats.

What applications are affected?

The virus has claimed victims in countries all over the world, but specifically users from Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore and Poland have been extremely affected by this malware.

Kaspersky, a famous antivirus program, released a list of apps that were infected, and which have obviously already been removed from the store.
