Competition between platforms streaming has grown significantly over the years, as, with a greater public interest, large studios decided to offer their productions on their own services, such as, for example, Disney.
Although there are currently many options for places to watch this digital content, a change of scenery has caught the industry’s attention. Recently, the union of multiple streaming platforms with a common purpose was announced.

Currently, those who search for and follow productions digital usually have more than one subscription to access different content. This high demand has been significant since the Covid-19 pandemic, according to research carried out since then.
Therefore, many countries consume series, films and documentaries available on platforms, which necessarily requires some changes in accordance with the legislation of each country involved in this market.

With this in mind, the main companies in this market decided to create a group to facilitate communication with government officials regarding the regulation of their operations in the most diverse places.
The main idea to form the then group called Streaming Innovation Alliance (SIA). According to the information provided, the idea was the CEO of the Motion Picture Association (MPA), Charles Rivkin. MPA was already carrying out similar work, but in the field of technology, with one of the participating companies, for example, Google.
In turn, Netflix began partnering in 2019 with MPA and, currently, in order to centralize discussions on online productions, there was a new merger and formation of the group with other big names such as Disney and Warner Bros.
Although this grouping aims to guarantee better discussions and greater benefits, there are still some companies outside this team, such as the developer Apple.
This change will certainly not be the first in the coming years, as platforms are generating even more impact and changing the way of leisure and consumption of online content from productions around the world.
