One of the main questions about the large-scale production of agricultural products is the environmental impact of using products chemicals, such as pesticides.
These components are toxic and can affect all existing natural resources, such as water.
A 2022 survey, which we make available below, listed the main Brazilian cities with water sources contaminated by pesticides.
Cities with unsafe water
The use of products Chemicals for pest control in plantations are a widely used resource and there is strict control by the responsible authorities due to the risks they can generate for the health of living beings.
Still, contamination of natural resources, such as water sources, is not completely monitored.

Water is one of the most important resources for human life, as it participates in several fundamental processes for survival, such as hydration.
Each region has a company responsible for the care and distribution of drinking water.
In the social sphere, it is the state and municipal responsibility to apply and evaluate quality control standards.
Knowledge of contamination by pesticides It is not something new and, for this reason, minimum tolerable values were established in samples, since there is no evidence about the harm to human health when ingesting small amounts.
Consuming water with high levels of pesticides can cause serious problems, such as the appearance of cancer, hormonal imbalance, serious allergies and inflammation, neurological problems and even death.
A worrying revelation
Data made available by the Sisagua portal (Water Quality Surveillance Information System for Human Consumption), in 2022, highlights an important warning.
Among some Brazilian cities, 28 presented numbers above the expected for the presence of chemicals in the samples.
Research data presented below shows that, in the context of the regions where higher rates of Contamination In the samples, the state of Goiás, with Anuarã, followed by Paulistas (MG) and Monte Mor (SP), ranks first in this worrying ranking.
