Faced with this problem, a company called Eletromidia has developed an innovative solution, known as Abrigo Amigo, which aims to provide companionship and increase the safety of women under these conditions.
How will the innovation work?
The concept behind the initiative is simple but powerful. At each bus stop, there is an advertising banner with a device installed, featuring a discreet button.
When a woman is alone at the bus stop and wants company, she can easily press this button. By doing so, the woman will contact a representative from the Eletromidia company via a video call.
That device It has a camera, a microphone and an internet connection, enabling real-time communication.
The technology is specially designed to identify when a woman is alone at the bus stop, automatically activating the support system to offer companionship.
This resource is a crucial measure to ensure that women in emergency situations can count on a quick and effective communication channel to feel safer.
After a successful test in Campinas, where 150 calls were made, the company decided to implement it in other cities, such as Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, starting in August.
There will be more than a hundred bus stops equipped with Abrigo Amigo, spreading this important protection tool to a significant number of women.
