A heat wave that has been plaguing Brazil is far from respite, according to Climatempo estimates. It is expected to persist until Sunday (19).
The intensity of the heat is so great that only Porto Alegre and Florianópolis will have maximum temperatures of around 30 °C next week.
Heat wave may last a little longer
Other regions, such as the capitals below, will face temperatures exceeding 40 °C. They are: Teresina, Boa Vista, Cuiabá and Campo Grande.
The scorching heat, which began to be felt at the end of last week, intensified last Monday (13).

The alert, initially in force until Wednesday (15), may be extended if weather conditions persist.
This episode of extreme heat, which has afflicted the country, is attributed to a combination of continuous emissions of greenhouse gases, the result of human activities, and the climate phenomenon El Niñowhich warms the waters of the Eastern Pacific Ocean, influencing global temperatures.
Although the heat is expected to peak in the coming days, the World Meteorological Organization issued a worrying warning on November 7th.
According to the organization, this scorching weather pattern has the potential to extend until April 2024, leaving Brazil and other regions under its fiery influence for an extended period.
This alarming prediction points to the urgent need to address the root causes of climate change and take meaningful action to reduce harmful emissions into the atmosphere.
Given this scenario, it is crucial that authorities and the population are prepared to deal with the challenges associated with high temperatures, such as the increased risk of fires, the high demand for electricity and the possible impacts on public health.
