With the arrival of the pandemic, technological devices, such as smartphones and computers, have become indispensable elements in our lives, especially for those who have adopted remote work.
In this context, Google is always looking to develop new updates to improve its users’ experiences.
Recently, the company announced, through its official blog, a new version of Google Meet that brings new features to the picture-in-picture window. Want to know what they are? Keep reading and we’ll tell you about them below!
New Google Meet Features
Currently, the picture-in-picture feature (floating mode) is only available for the Google Chrome browser on computers. It allows users to follow a meeting while browsing the internet, for example.
In addition, it also allows users to leave the meeting room, activate and deactivate their cameras and microphones at any time. With this new version, five other very useful features have been made available to users.
You can now raise your hand, use in-meeting chat, turn captions on and off, and more efficiently resize your view, as well as access flexible layouts.
The Google Meet update is expected to arrive in the next fifteen days. As mentioned earlier, it will bring improvements to the picture-in-picture mode, which is currently available exclusively on Google Chrome for computers.
Other news
Additionally, Google has released updates for several of its own applications, focusing on the operating system as a whole.
The new features are available on the Google Play Store and promise to bring improvements in security, privacy and other interesting details, including support for the Wallet app on devices with foldable screens.
Flexible smartphones like the Galaxy Z Flip and Fold and the Motorola Razr already have the Wallet app. However, for users of current foldable devices, Google Wallet requires the device to be closed to work.
With this update, the restriction should be modified, allowing for more comprehensive use of the tool.
