How to send your location in real time
To send your real-time location on WhatsApp, follow these steps:
- Open a conversation with the person or group you want to share your real-time location with;
- Tap the “Attach” icon (paperclip icon) located in the text bar at the bottom of the screen;
- Select “Location” from the list of options;
- Tap “Share real-time location”;
- Select the length of time you want to share your real-time location (15 minutes, 1 hour or 8 hours);
- Tap “Send”.

To send your fixed location, simply select “fixed location” or “current location”. It’s important to remember that in order to share your real-time location, WhatsApp needs access to your device’s GPS. So make sure you have it turned on!
