In this sense, aiming to reintegrate financially vulnerable citizens into the national economy, the government created the program Unroll Brazil.

The action has the support of the Brazilian Federation of Banks (Febraban), which allows banks and associated financial institutions to offer unmissable trading conditions to those in debt.

Last 7/17, Monday, the union of the federal government, together with some bodies in the banking sector, resulted in the launch of the debt renegotiation program called Desenrola Brasil, which is already attracting a large audience. With a positive balance, the program is expected to end at the end of the year.

However, with the emergence of cases of scams involving social action, Febraban issued a statement to the public on its official website. According to the announcement, some scammers are sending links to fake trading pages and making illegal charges.

These criminals convince people in different ways, promising to clear their name through advance payments.

How to protect yourself from scams?

Banks advise that interested citizens seek the official service channels of creditor banks, such as the internet bankingofficial applications and physical agencies.

“It is important that customers do not click on links received through messaging applications, social networks and sponsored links on search engines. Make contact with your bank yourself. We emphasize that it is only possible to renegotiate debts through the banks’ official channels”, explains Adriano Volpini, director of the Federation’s Fraud Prevention Committee.

Febraban also explains that institutions do not normally send proposals through social networks and that debts are only removed after signing agreements with a defined date. In addition, other recommendations were released.

Febraban Tips

The entity warns citizens not to click on unknown links sent through unofficial bank channels. It is also necessary to check the website and URL address to avoid camouflage by criminals, who cannot completely hide the difference between the official website and its cloned addresses.

Furthermore, traders should pay attention to the use of eye-catching layouts, security seals exaggerated and false, informal language and Portuguese errors, which indicate possible fraud.
