Meteor shower in sight
A fascinating meteor shower is expected to take place on August 12 and 13. The Perseids are one of the most fascinating and eagerly awaited meteor showers of the year. They are so named because their apparent origin is in the constellation Perseus.
This meteor shower occurs every year between the months of July and August, reaching its peak in mid-August. During this period, the Earth passes through a trail of debris left by the comet Swift-Tuttle along its orbit.
When these particles of dust and debris intertwine in the Earth’s atmosphere, they burn up and create the famous meteors, also known as “shooting stars”.
Partial Solar Eclipse
On October 14, a partial solar eclipse will occur, an exciting astronomical phenomenon that will be visible mainly in North and Central America. In South America, the privileged location will be the state of Paraíba, in Brazil.

Geminids

Unlike other meteor showers, the Geminids are not caused by a comet, but rather by an asteroid called 3200 Phaeton.
As Earth passes through the orbit of this asteroid, it encounters a trail of debris left behind. When these dust and debris particles enter Earth’s atmosphere at high speed, they burn up and create the bright Geminid meteors.
