A rare video on the Internet shows the legendary Abdulmanap educating a young Khabib and Islam in the wild mountains of Dagestan. In the video, the deceased coach reveals that the mountains are 1750 meters above sea level, surrounded by pine forests that make training difficult. The video shows that Islam and Khabib are not the only fighters in this mountain training camp.
Fighters from Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Chechnya, the Netherlands, Croatia, Ukraine and the USA visited these mountains to help them prepare for their championship fights. Khabib Nurmagomedov said that Islam Makhachev is like his father’s son
Islam Makhachev was no ordinary student of Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov. The talented lightweight was Khabib’s father’s favorite disciple. According to Khabib’s father, greatness was always destined for the Makhachkala warrior. Before Mahachev’s fight at UFC Vegas 49, “Eagle” revealed the bond between Mahachev and his father.
“He was my father’s favorite student. For my father, Islam was like his son. My father always said that Islam is the future champion.
