Khamzat Chimaev had a phenomenal run in the UFC. His dominance in the octagon is the result of talent and hard work. Chimaev is surrounded by a team that pushes him to the end and a Chechen Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu coach. Alan “Finfou” Nascimento One of them.
Chimaev currently has a 6-game winning streak since entering the UFC and has battled four BJJ black belts. In their last four games, Chimaev has earned 4 black belts, and only Gilbert Burns has come close to challenging the phenomenon during his win. Black belt holders Gerald Meerschaert, Li Jingliang and Kevin Holland finished in the first round.
“I have Khamzat expose all the fake black belts in Brazilian jiu-jitsu that are featured in the MMA script. Why? Why? Because nowadays people only buy belts when they go to McDonald’s. They don’t do the job. He just got his purple belts. How many black belts did he finish in his career?” Chimaev’s coach recently said it in a Block Asset video.

Few fighters have made a start in the UFC like Khamzat Chimaev has. The Chechen beast has definitely outstripped every opponent and is one of the top contenders to fight for the middleweight belt. Not only does “Borz” have the skills to tackle the biggest matchups, he’s also one of the biggest names on the roster right now.
Chimaev’s fan base has grown tremendously since his debut. With 6 wins in the UFC and 5 of them finishes, the sky is the limit for potential matchups. However, due to the weighing setback at UFC 279, the fighter is considering moving to the middleweight division.
