Khamzat Chimaev was originally scheduled to fight Stockton Superstar Nate Diaz in a five-round middleweight match in the main event. UFC 279. This was Khamzat’s first headliner event, and the fighter completely failed to get ahead of his fight on the official scales.
Khamzat came in at around 8 pounds over the heavyweight weight limit. This led to the fighter being paired with Kevin Holland at the last moment. In the latest exclusive footage released by Block Asset, the video shows Khamzat regretting losing weight behind the scenes.
“F**king didn’t lose weight! I swear I would have killed him” Khamzat is seen saying it in the locker room after his fight with Kevin Holland. Chimaev was watching the Diaz-Ferguson fight on screen as he was infuriated by losing weight.

What is Khamzat Chimaev’s record so far in the UFC?
Khamzat “Borz” Chimaev has been an absolute phenomenon in the UFC so far. The Chechen fighter has taken the UFC by storm and is now one of the biggest stars on the UFC roster. The fighter went from being the most loved to the most hated after the scale debacle at UFC 279.
Khamzat made his debut in 2020 and has had a 6-game winning streak since then. Chimaev’s debut in the Ultimate Fighting Championship was unlike any other fighter. “Borz” has been a totally dominant show in almost all of his fights. The fighter took 0 hits in four of his six fights.
