Rose garnered widespread attention for her performance against Carla, and on the final episode of the MMA Hour, her coach Pat Barry appeared to defend her, arguing that Sean’s comments played a role in Namajunas’ terrible performance. “This Sean Strickland thing is everywhere, everywhere,” When asked what went wrong, Barry said.
According to Barry, it was a misinterpretation that made people believe he met Rose when he was 14. Sean referenced this article and called Pat Barry the “Weinstein of MMA.” According to Barry, the strawweight fighter took this argument to heart and failed to give him 100 percent.

Rose and Pat’s relationship has always been under the microscope given the age difference. The age gap has popped up on the internet several times and Rose had to hear a lot of comments about it from the MMA community. When Strickland calls Barry the “Weinstein of MMA,” Pat claims it influenced Namajunas’ performance.
