The UFC middleweight belt isn’t the only addition Alex Pereiracollection. The newly crowned UFC champion was also awarded the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu brown belt following last weekend’s win.

Recently, Alex Pereira shocked the world by dethroning former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya. UFC 281. Madison Square Garden witnessed the Brazilian’s brightest moment as he put an end to his foe for the third time in his career. Shortly after his spectacular win, “Poatan” is now officially a BJJ brown belt.

Pereira’s coach, Plinio Cruz, was awarded the newly crowned brown belt at BJJ. This award surprised fans when Pereira knocked out Adesanya on their feet in the UFC 281 main event challenge. Recently, lightweight champion Islam Makhachev spoke the bitter truth about the few UFC fighters who have won high-ranking belts in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Fans are starting to believe that Dagestan was right in his statement after Pereira’s latest news. The Brazilian won the middleweight fight by TKO (punches) and barely showed off his jiu-jitsu against Adesanya despite some downed combat in some rounds. Twitter flooded with backlash as Alex Pereira picked up his brown belt.
