The joint main event of UFC 272 has been booked between former champion Rafael Dos Anjos and rising hopeful Rafael Fiziev. These two were supposed to make headlines at UFC Vegas 47, but their fight was pulled back due to Fiziev’s visa issues. They worked really hard but Fiziev had to withdraw from this fight due to the Coronavirus.
Fiziev He landed in Vegas and was affected by the Coronavirus. He had no choice but to withdraw from the fight and announced this via Twitter, writing:I was devastated to announce that I was leaving the fight. I had a great camp and was ready to put on a show, I flew all the way from Thailand to Vegas to catch Covid, I was in a hotel bed for 3 days with fever, bone aches and cough.”
Fiziev isn’t too happy with people saying it’s faking the disease, he added. “I called the RDA and I still want this challenge when my health allows me to compete again. I’m sorry to him, but to say that I was faking it is complete nonsense. Time will put everything in its place.”
Islam Makhachev ready to beat Rafael Dos Anjos in heavyweight competition
Islam took to Twitter to announce that it will fight the RDA, but won’t take it lightly. He wrote, “170??? Let’s do this. We have unfinished business RDA”
RDA and Islam wanted to fight each other for a long time and were arranged to face each other in three different situations. Whenever something unfortunate happened, they could never tear each other’s faces apart. This may prove to be a blessing in disguise, as it emerges from a dominant performance against Islam.
