As one of the greatest fighters alive, a Jon Jones fight is expected to generate some excitement. The anticipated return of Jon Jones in heavyweight is something else entirely.
Jones He made his name in the light heavyweight division by going wild and destroying their legends in the process. He last fought 205 pounds in March 2020 and has been making fun of a comeback in the heavyweight ever since. But the problem was to find a suitable competitor.
A month or two ago, rumors started flying about the possibility of Jones and Stipe Miocic fighting for UFC 282. Francis Ngannou. But there is another caveat – the fitness of the champion.
In light of the doubts about the matchups, heavyweight top 5 contenders Curtis Blaydes and Ciryl Gane took the field and offered their services to fight the light heavyweight majors. Blaydes, “I’m not sure how legit this is, but if this fight happens, I’ll be ready for 5 rounds of battle.” Inside a similar vein, Cyrillic Gane he also offered to fight her by tweeting, “March looks great for the start of #StrapSeason. Ngannou, Jones, Blaydes, I don’t care: anytime, anyone, anywhere.”
Both fighters have not fought since September, so a March date may be suitable for both. If the Jones fight doesn’t work out for either of them, then they could potentially take on each other as well.

Why doesn’t Jon Jones want to rush his transition to the heavyweight division?
The UFC will do its best to reserve the Jon Jones and Francis Ngannou fight for March next year. However, if questions remain about the champion’s fitness (coming out of a long injury period), then Curtis Blaydes and Ciryl Gane could be potential contenders.
However, that doesn’t mean that Jones necessarily has to fight it. Having beaten everyone who stood in his way among the light heavyweights, he immediately guaranteed himself a chance at a championship. In a recent tweet, he said, “For me, for me. it’s okay to wait‘ in response to a fan who said, ‘Cmon Bones, it’s time to light up the heavyweight division.”

Therefore, it seems unlikely that we will have any matchups for Jones that do not include Francis Ngannou. Stipe Miocic was an option for the American, but the negotiations did not turn into a mega-fight. However, Ngannou has expressed his interest in fighting Jones many times over, so even if fight fans have to wait a little longer for “Bones”‘s final return, it will definitely be worth it.
