Darren Till was considered a contender for the UFC middleweight title, but things have changed a lot for the British. Till is in a bad phase of his career with just one win in his last five octagon games. In his final match, Till faced Derek Brunson and was defeated in the third round by giving up. After this fight, Till revealed that he suffered a knee injury that affected his performance. Till was expected to return in a fight against Jack Hermansson earlier this year.
In a recent interview with ESPN MMA, “Gorilla” revealed that he was finally fully recovered and wanted to fight before the year was out. said:
“The body is never 100%, but I’m back like I was before, healthy, fit and ready to win a world championship. A big fight against one of the best forwards in the division… I say ‘in a few months’ and I’ll be ready. By the end of this year I want to have two fights. Two fights, then next year is a big year. The comeback has begun.”
With Till showing an interest in fighting, no one knew who to fight.

Darren Till and Dricus du Plessis are playable at UFC 282.
Till is currently the league's #9 fighter and considering his past few performances, no one above would want to fight him. However, the warriors below his rank are quite interested in fighting. Last month, 13th middleweight fighter Dricus du Plessis took to Twitter to make a call. Darren. He wrote:
"So I heard your @darrentill2 bro @KChimaev is making headlines at #UFC279, you might be looking for an easy fight to get back to the winners circle I'm so eager to give 3 weeks notice or are you retiring now?"
While Till wasn't responding to the call at the time, the UFC seems really interested in making this fight. Recent news about it Until etc du Plessis caught the attention of his fans. The fight is currently on the table and verbal agreements are underway between both parties.
This could be a great opportunity for Till to win and regain momentum. The fighter is eagerly looking for the top five and this fight could start something for him. On the other hand, du Plessis has a chance to rise to the top and make a statement for himself by beating someone like Till.
