UFC 278’s main event looked like another day in the office for the champion Kamaru Osman. That’s what it looked like for most of the fight. But the whole scenario changed when rival Leon Edwards fired a headshot that put the champion to sleep.
This fight was a rematch from their first meeting in 2015. Kamaru won the first match unanimously. Even though Rocky did some damage in the first round. He was checked and battered for the remainder of the fight.

Usman, on the other hand, went on to become the Welterweight champion and P4P king. He had a dominant run in the division knocking out the top contenders. He even beat some contestants twice.
At the beginning of the matchup at UFC 278, the improvement in Rocky’s game was obvious. As he advocated takedown from Nigerian. Rocky then went on to take down the champion that no one else in the UFC could.

Kamaru Usman vows to return to take revenge

After losing the title at the hands of the Birmingham player, he took to Twitter to appeal to his Nigerian fans and promised a comeback. The former Welterweight King wrote, “Champions fail sometimes… but we’re back and we’re back with vengeance!! #NGHTMR”
The champion then tweeted to congratulate Edwards on the win and also wrote: “Damn, I love this sport!!! Things are happening but… Alhamdulillah we are moving!! congratulations @Leon_edwardsmma”
