Emerging lightweight contender Rafael Fiziev was due to face former champion Rafael Dos Anjos in the main event of UFC 272. These two were supposed to face off at the main event of UFC Vegas 47, but the fight continued. Postponed by Fiziev due to visa problems.
Dos Anjos last fought over a year ago when he defeated Paul Felder by split decision in November 2020. The former lightweight champion has only fought the best for most of his career, which includes Anthony Pettis, Benson Henderson, Donald Cerrone, Kevin Lee, Eddie Alvarez, Khabib Nurmagomedov and the like. Tony Ferguson Kamaru Usman from lightweight, Colby Covington, Robbie Lawler and Leon Edwards from middleweight.

Fiziev has landed in Vegas and is affected by the Coronavirus. He had no choice but to withdraw from the fight and announced this via Twitter, writing:I was devastated to announce that I was leaving the fight. I had a great camp and was ready to put on a show, I flew all the way from Thailand to Vegas to catch Covid, I was in a hotel bed for 3 days with fever, bone aches and cough.”
Fiziev isn’t too happy with people saying it’s faking the disease, he added. “I called the RDA and I still want this challenge when my health allows me to compete again. I’m sorry to him, but to say that I was faking it is complete nonsense. Time will put everything in its place.”
