“If I $50,000…” – Alex Pereira makes a big bet on himself with Brendan Schaub, who says he has no chance against Khamzat Chimaev

Alex Pereira, the name on everyone’s lips – not only did Israel emphatically beat Adesanya, but he had to dig deep to get the win.

Now that he’s the champion, a huge window of opportunity opens up for the 35-year-old who made his debut in the promotion just a year ago. There were many who opposed the two-part Glory kickboxing champion. Sean Strickland. But he certainly managed to silence them all.

He’s mouth-watering – $50,000 if I beat Chimaev… Also, another $50,000 if I’m not knocked down in 30 seconds, and we’re doubling that $50,000 to donate to charity.”

Brendan Schaub respectfully comments on Alex Pereira’s chances against Khamzat Chimaev

Brendan Schaub’s words can seem extremely harsh. Alex Pereira champion and Schaub no longer fight in the octagon. However, he has revealed on Twitter that he does not want to be disrespectful. In his tweet, “I’m in. Let’s do 100k. Zero disrespect to the championship. Incredible fighter. I like @KChimaev’s match.”

However, could Schaub have any meaning here? In their matchups, apart from the end of the first lap where Adesanya severely shook Pereira, the key to success came from the Brazilian’s on-court inexperience. Israel Adesanya isn’t in the grips – he’s only had five years in the UFC and has had time to hone his game on the field.

If a Khamzat Chimaev-Alex Pereira is finally made by the UFC, the fans will be in for a feast! Although Pereira is by far the more efficient striker, the truth is Chimaev still somewhat untested. Despite that, fans should expect the Swede to put the Brazilian in a difficult position on the pitch, which is where he really excels.
