posting on twitter Kerber aforementioned, “I really wanted to play at the US Open, but in the end I decided that two against one wasn’t a fair competition., I’ll be taking a break from traveling the world as a tennis player in the coming months, but then again, I believe it’s for the best reason, I’m going to miss you all. New York has generally been a turning point in my career and it feels like this year will somehow be no different! From restarting my career in 2011 to winning a championship in 2016 and being #1 in the world, the US Open has a special place in my heart and I wish I could say goodbye to you all on the court for a while before we go on tour.”
Her fans were so happy to hear the news of her pregnancy and wished her on Twitter, letting people know that she will be missed in a truly healthy moment in her absence.
