Roger Federer talks about the legacy he and Serena Williams will leave behind, and says they are the “bridge” between generations.

Like Federer, American tennis legend Serena Williams has announced that she is quitting tennis. In an interview with Sky Sports, Roger Federer talked about the influence he and Serena Williams have had on the tennis world. Federer said, “[Serena Williams and I have brought different things] Definitely into sports and we both did it as moms and dads, you know? It’s funny to think of it that way because we were both young and on tour and we never thought we’d end up with it.”

“I think we’re definitely the bridge, you know, for a very long time, from the old generation to the new generation, which was a privilege for me to play between generations like this, Same for him. He brought the power play like no other, and frankly, it was very effective.” Federer added even more.
