Australian tennis player Nick Kyrgios has expressed dismay at the ATP’s decision to try off-court coaching from the second half of this season on Wednesday (June 22nd). The governing body of the men’s professional tennis tour, ATP, said: “off the field” coaching will be tried US Open and all the other events in the second half of this season. According to the governing body, coaching will be authorized from the designated seats for the qualifiers and main draw matches at the events starting July 11th.
Only verbal and non-verbal coaching will be allowed unless it interrupts the game or hinders the opponent, verbal coaching is only allowed when both players are on the same end of the court. coaches allowed to use hand signals however, they are not allowed to talk to their players when they leave the pitch for any reason.
Abuse or abuse of new coaching terms will still result in penalties and fines. The trial will run until the ATP Finals in Turin in November, which will wrap up the season. The ATP’s statement aligns the men’s tour with the WTA Tour, which is currently an off-court coaching trial.

Nick Krygios said the decision by the men’s tennis board removed the appeal of the game, where players had to choose their own path once they were on the court. What happens to a high-profile player versus a low-ranked player who doesn’t have or (can’t) keep a coach?” Kyrgios responded to Patrick Mouratoglou’s tweet in a social media post.
