this Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) has announced the nominees for the WTA Awards 2022 in various categories. The best players in various categories will be announced over the next three weeks.
WTA Awards categories include Player of the Year, Doubles Team of the Year, Newcomer of the Year, Most Improved Player of the Year, and Comeback Player of the Year. Soon, honorary members of the international tennis media will vote and their decision will be announced at the awards ceremony.

WTA Awards 2022- Meet the final contenders
The Polish World’s No. 1 Iga Swiatek is the winner of the 2022 WTA Best Player Award. She won 8 singles titles this year, including the US Open and French Open titles. It is followed by the World No.2 Ounce Jabeur. This season, she made history as the first African and Arab woman to play in a Grand Slam Championship match in the 2022 Wimbledon final. Another important category at the 2022 WTA Awards is the WTA Newcomer of the Year Award. Many great actors have seen their rise in the big event. China’s Qinwen Zheng climbed 100 places in the WTA rankings thanks to her outstanding performance throughout the season. Another Czech player on the list, Linda Fruhvirtova, became the youngest player to win a WTA title when she won the Chennai Open at the age of 17.
Germany’s Jule Niemeier beat Anett Kontaveit in the second round of Wimbledon to reach the quarter-finals of the tournament. Mayar Sherif is another promising actress on the list. The most captivating category of awards at the 2022 WTA Awards is the WTA Most Improved Player Award. Veronika Kudermetova from the Czech Republic managed to enter the Top 10 thanks to her consistent performance throughout the season.
