Recently, Canadian professional tennis player Eugenie Bouchard appeared on Sorry for taking digital audio file. Sorry My Take, a podcast owned by Tony Khan. The overall length of the podcast is about 90-120 minutes. Old World No. 5 shared some of his tennis experiences here, and surprisingly, one of the stories was about the Russian tennis sensation, Maria Sharapova.
When the landlord asks “Have you ever played a warm-up with anyone and they’re just bullshit?” Answered by Bouchard “Oh yes, Sharapova, she’s trying to hit the ball as hard as she can in the Warmup. It’s very annoying. She’s trying to scare you, but it didn’t work for me.”
The host then asked Eugenie Bouchard if he speaks about it to the referee to whom his answer is given “The referee cannot force you to do anything, after all, the referee cannot force the person to warm up. You can just walk the court and decide not to warm up if you don’t want to, but normally most of us do some easy pickups to feel good and some of us try to win and hit as hard as we can.”
