Daria SavilleThe Russian Australian tennis pro recently uploaded a post describing the blatant torture situation the Grand Slams had gotten him into and expressing his emotions vividly.
During his rather lengthy message to his fans and the global tennis community himself, he expressed his thoughts after playing 4 Slams this year: “Why does Slams feel so different from other tournaments? Grand Slams are chaotic. It’s busy, the player arena is very chaotic and 90% of these people never travel to other tournaments but because this is a Slam they came to support their players.” quoted Aussie who was kicked out of the ongoing game US Open First round.

Daria Saville Noting his major issues while appearing at the Grand Slams, he said: “It feels like I owe them (the fans) a win. I just want to do my job, I don’t come to your job to ‘support’ you. I like to focus on progress, but during the Slam it all goes out the window. My thoughts become very toxic and all I want to do is win and keep people around me. I feel like everybody wants me to win. That’s not true, but it feels like nobody cares about my recovery. Just win.”
28-year-old player slams Grand Slams orthodoxy variants “It’s a good problem having the tournament’s final a week ago, but that means I haven’t trained on the field at all. He played the final, traveled the next day and played the next day in completely different conditions and on the field. There are rules about warm-ups before games and so only seeded players and ex-champions can hit the court to warm up, people like me have to warm up in the park, so yeah the preparation wasn’t like that.”
Currently ranked 54th in the world rankings, Daria also detailed and opened up about her mental health issues. ADHD saying “It’s really hard to play on the outside courts. It’s very distracting, especially for me with ADHD. There’s shit going on everywhere, people coming in and out, calls from other courts that you think are for you, it’s so loud because you’re exposed to everything. Not to mention that outfields are often faster than stadiums.”
Not seeing himself as someone who gives up easily, he finally concluded his words as follows: “We only practice 4 times a year. Because like I said, Grand Slams doesn’t feel like any other tournament. I hope one day playing in Slams won’t be torture for me and I will enjoy it more. I am working on it.”
Saville, who made an early debut with his wife in the singles category at New York courts this week, Leylah Annie Fernandez moved to the past Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula challenge in the first round US Open Female couples, who have been exposed to many drama scenarios, finally come face to face. Bernarda Pera and Diving Galfi for second-round matches tomorrow at the Flushing courts.
