Top 9 Zoom Presentation Tips and Tricks to Achieve Like a Pro

In 2020, we witnessed Zoom taking the world by storm. Millions of people use Zoom because of its easy-to-use interface and great features. Many job interviews, seminars, music concerts, and even a few casual conversations between friends and family and more take place on Zoom today. Apart from video calling, the main feature of Zoom for professional use is Presentations. And our compilation of tips and tricks for a Zoom presentation will help you cover the basics and impress the audience.

People prefer Zoom to present. After all, the software comes with superior screen sharing options, a whiteboard plug-in, airtight security protocols, and more.

If you don’t take the necessary measurements, your perfect presentation may turn out to be mediocre. This post will talk about the best tips and tricks to succeed in Zoom presentations like a pro.

1. Set or Change Meeting Password

During your Zoom presentation, you do not want any random person to join the meeting with an insecure Zoom meeting link. Before hosting Zoom presentations, it is recommended to go to PMI Settings and enable the password for a meeting.

Do not forget to share the password with the participants before starting the Zoom presentation.

Zoom offers users the ability to change the background using any random wallpaper. However, you should not choose any wallpaper as a background, as it will not look professional during the presentation.

You can go to resources like Pixabay and Unsplash and download the corresponding wallpapers to use as Zoom background. For example, you can use the Wall Street wallpaper to deliver a pitch or explain earnings reports to board members.

3. Retouch View

If Snapchat filters seem too extreme, but you still want to add an effect to your video, you should try the native retouch feature in Zoom. Launch video settings in Zoom to use in your video. Then check the box next to Retouch my appearance. The option also takes care of poor lighting in the room.

4. Enable Meeting Time in Zoom

You won’t want to go overboard with your presentation. It must be within a certain time limit. However, Zoom does not show the meeting duration by default. You need to enable the option from Settings.

Stage 1: Open the Zoom app on Windows or Mac.

Step 2: Tap the profile icon in the top right corner and go to Settings.

Stage 3: Go to General > Show my meeting time and enable the option.

Now every time you hold a Zoom meeting, you will see the meeting time in the upper right corner.

5. Enable End-to-End Encryption

Zoom offers end-to-end encryption to all users. It is always recommended to add a layer of security to your Zoom meetings. Follow the steps and make sure you have the Zoom option enabled.

Stage 1: Go to the Zoom Login page. Sign in with your Zoom account information. You will be redirected to the Zoom account page.

Step 2: Click on Settings from the left panel. Under the Meeting tab, click Security.

Enable zoom encryption

Stage 3: Scroll down and enable the toggle next to Allow the use of end-to-end encryption.

6. Use the Whiteboard

A whiteboard is useful for brainstorming with a team, explaining a topic in detail, sharing your ideas, and you can always be more creative with it.

Zoom provides a number of useful features on the Whiteboard for the presenter. You can use text, drawing, annotation, stamp and more tools during the presentation.

9. Use Breakout Rooms

Breakout rooms allow the host to split the meeting into smaller rooms and assign participants to each room. Participants in separate virtual rooms keep discussions and conversations separate. There is no overlap that gives the home owner the much-needed sanity.

Open the site, sign in using your ID, social media or SSO and click My Account. To find the breakout room setting, click Settings > Meeting and then select the In Meeting (Advanced) menu option.
