Top 3 Ways to Save Images in Chrome for iOS

Google Chrome for iOS is one of the best alternatives to Safari. And the revamped UI means performing any task is now highly intuitive. 2. Save to Clipboard

It’s okay to save images in the Photos app, but how about copying them directly to another app instead? This is pretty useful if you want to add a picture to a note or message without cluttering your photo library, right?

Fortunately, Chrome lets you do just that. Simply tap the Copy Image option (the same one that appears after tapping and holding an image) in the menu; It should be copied to the iOS clipboard.

Go to an app (Messages, Notes, Mail, etc.) and touch and hold the area where you want to place the picture.

Tap Paste and the image should appear immediately.

3. Drag and Drop (iPad Only)

Start by opening both Chrome and the app you want to copy images from in split view. Next, go to the page with the pictures. Now, press and hold a picture and then drag your finger lightly so that it snaps to the bottom of the picture.

Cannot Save to Photos App – Grant Permissions

When trying to save images directly to the Photos app using the Save option, you may receive an error message ‘Cannot Save Images’. This happens when Chrome doesn’t have permission to copy images to the Photos app. However, solving the problem is quite easy.

Go to the Settings app and then tap on Chrome. On the next screen, tap Photos.

Set the access permissions to Read and Write. This should give the browser the permissions it needs to save images to the Photos app.

Cannot Copy to Clipboard – Update Chrome

The browser’s ability to copy images to the clipboard is only possible as of version 71.0 of Google Chrome. If you’re not running an updated version of Chrome (possible if automatic updates are disabled), then you’re likely not seeing the Copy Image option.

To update Chrome, go to the App Store and then tap Updates.

Swipe down on the Updates screen to scan for new updates. Tap UPDATE if Google Chrome has an update.

After the update, you should see the Copy Image option when long pressing an image.

Drag & Drop Not Working — Force Quit Apps

Sometimes, dragging images to another app in split view may not work. This is due to random errors associated with prolonged multitasking sessions, and you can quickly fix the problem by forcefully quitting both Chrome and the app in question.

To force quit both apps, double-tap the Home button on your iPad to bring up the app switcher and then swipe up on the combo app card.
